Health and Physical Education
With the growing awareness of obesity, we use the A Beka health and the “Color Me Healthy” curricula to educate our older students. Along with written materials our students learn in a fun way, through songs, about nutrition and exercises to maintain healthiness. To extend this need, we have our very own garden with carrots of many colors, peas, radish, flowers, lettuce and broccoli. The future holds growing birdhouse gouges to paint, pumpkins and sunflowers.
During our physical education time we are not just playing age-appropriate sports, but our students learn about a sport, the rules, and how to play. We learn about the proper way to exercise and why it is so important to get our sixty minutes of active play each day.
