Kindergarten Program

Character training is one of the supreme goals of Christian education. This training is at the beginning of the life of little ones and hoped throughout life. Our little ones in kindergarten begin their day with thirty minutes devoted to learning the Old and New Testaments through stories, prayer, memory verses, songs, and art. During this time pledges to the American flag, Christian flag and Bible are recited and patriotic songs are learned. Classroom habits and procedures are practiced to produce an orderly classroom conducive to effective learning while skills development time is designed to strengthen listening, fine motor coordination, eye-hand coordination, visual perception and writing skills.

The academics for this program is from the A Beka Curriculum. It includes phonics and reading, handwriting which is practiced to encourage to be neat, careful, orderly and persistent which gives rise to beautiful penmanship, science in which students care for class pets (fire bellied toads, frogs, and the aquatic turtle), plants, other animals, and humans. Mathematics takes us through counting by 2s, 5s,10s and 1 to 100, addition, subtraction, weights and measures, beginning fractions and more. Social Studies introduces students to a variety of topics which includes people and places both at home and abroad. Art and music provides students a variety of creative outlets! Whether singing, dancing, painting or play-acting, children are given the opportunity to express themselves.
